Context
Sarawak, located on the island of Borneo, has a range of population densities spread across 31 different districts. These include bustling urban centers to remote, sparsely-populated rural areas. This study provides an analysis of the historical patterns of fire and haze pollution throughout Sarawak. It explores how these challenges correlate with the distribution of peatlands and various other land cover types, as well as their proximity to major towns, critical assets, and infrastructure.
